SINGAPORE, 05 OCTOBER 2022 — MoneyOwl, an NTUC Social Enterprise and Singapore’s first bionic comprehensive financial adviser, has been awarded the “Centre of Excellence for Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) Certification – Star Award 2022″ by the Financial Planning Association of Singapore (FPAS).
The award showcases an organisation’s strong advocacy toward CFP® Certification training, the most desired and respected global certification for those seeking to demonstrate their commitment to competent and ethical financial practice. MoneyOwl is accredited for having seven client advisers who are CFP® certified by FPAS and the commitment that MoneyOwl has shown to raising professionalism in the industry through education and training. MoneyOwl is one of the first two organisations to receive the award at the ceremony held today, in conjunction with the 6th Annual World Financial Planning Day.
FPAS has also awarded four MoneyOwl’s client advisers the CFP® Certification this year. Other than MoneyOwl’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer, Chuin Ting Weber, the recipients include Anton Tan, Colin Lai and Chiam Sijin. Ms Weber additionally holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst certifications.
Ms Chuin Ting Weber said, “It is of great honour for MoneyOwl to be recognised by FPAS as an organisation to be competent and ethical when providing financial advice to our customers. The recognition of our client advisers is also a huge testament to our mission of providing high-quality, comprehensive, and conflict-free advice to our clients since our inception in 2018. To date, we have helped 5,000 Singaporeans on their financial planning journey with our Comprehensive Financial Planning tool and service. Over the last four years, we’ve observed that it is often too difficult to find trusted and reliable planning services in the market. Before coming to MoneyOwl, most of our customers would rather receive piecemeal advice for fear that they tell too much of themselves to the wrong person.”
“With rising interest rates and inflation, it is essential for Singaporeans to relook their financial plans and manage their expenses. It can range from simple things like re-budgeting, setting up an emergency fund and restructuring one’s insurance portfolio to lower costs, to staying invested long-term in a globally diversified market portfolio to outpace inflation,” Ms Weber added.
“This is a distinguished award in recognition of an organisation’s dedication to promoting professionalism in the financial planning industry. It is also FPAS’ vision to ensure all Singaporeans have access to responsible and appropriate financial planning advice through education and a shared code of ethics. We are proud to see MoneyOwl’s expertise and dedication in providing the best financial advice to Singaporeans,” said Samantha Wong, FPAS CEO.
In April 2022, MoneyOwl expanded its range of offerings by adding digital CPF investing into its list of services, complementing its CPF-related services and holistic financial advice through its comprehensive financial planning service.
